What this is

999999andyou is a grid of one million squares. You claim a square and link it to one of your public social profiles. Claimed squares are public by design — their position, your chosen link, the public profile name, and its avatar are shown to everyone.

What we store

• Your profile link and the public name/avatar fetched from it (shown publicly on your square).
• Your email address, taken from the payment checkout. We use it only to send you a one-time link to edit your square, and — if you enable it — square-to-square messages addressed to you.
• Minimal rate-limit data needed to prevent abuse (e.g. counts and timestamps). We do not log the content of messages between squares.
• Abuse reports you submit (the reported square, your optional reason, and the reporter's IP address), kept so we can review and act on impersonation, scams, and other violations.

Messaging between squares

Square owners can send one-way messages to a small number of neighboring squares — only the squares directly touching theirs. A message is delivered to the recipient's on-file email; the sender is identified by their square's coordinates, never by a name, and the email cannot be replied to directly.

• Messaging is on by default for claimed squares. You can turn it off from your edit page or via the unsubscribe link in any message, and turn it back on later.
• We store only the sender's square and a timestamp for rate limiting. We do not store the recipient or the message body, and we do not share your email with the sender.

Identity & impersonation

A square links to a public profile, but we do not verify that the person who claimed it controls that profile. Anyone can link to any public account. Treat a square — and any message from one — as unverified: never send money, crypto, gift cards, passwords, or login codes based on it, and don't assume a sender is who their linked profile appears to show.

If a square impersonates someone or is used to scam, use the Report button on that square (or email [email protected]). We review reports and may flag or remove squares that violate our terms.

Cookies & analytics

By default we set no tracking cookies. The site keeps one small functional value in your browser (your sound on/off preference) — this never leaves your device. We use Google Analytics for anonymous, aggregated usage statistics, which sets analytics cookies — but only after you accept via the cookie banner. Decline and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice any time: manage cookie preferences.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe shares your email and payment status with us to finalize your claim.

Service providers

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Supabase — database hosting (stores your square + email).
• Amazon SES — sending transactional emails (edit links, messages).
• Google Analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage statistics.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your stored email or remove your square entirely at any time. We honor access, correction, and erasure requests under the GDPR and similar laws. Email [email protected] from the address you used at checkout.

Terms

• A claimed square is yours to keep; it is not resold while claimed.
• Link only to your own public profile on a supported platform. No illegal, hateful, deceptive, or infringing content. We may remove squares that violate this.
• No impersonation. Don't claim a square to pose as a person, brand, or organization you don't represent. Impersonation and using messaging to scam, phish, or harass are prohibited and may result in removal.
• The service is provided “as is”, without warranty. Availability is not guaranteed.
